The Metro Atlanta Cycling Club partnered with Free Bikes for Kids and Arbor Station Elementary for a fun family bicycling safety event. MACC fitted the kids with a new helmet, adjusted their seats and checked over their bikes before teaching them how to start & stop, scan for traffic, use hand signals and dodge obstructions all in our parking lot obstacle course.
Several kids were excited to learn how to ride for the first time WITHOUT TRAINING WHEELS. Then with the help of MACC members, Creekside HS volunteers & Arbor Station staff and special guest Rashaan Bahati the students practiced their new skills on a fun ride around the school track. The young smiles were priceless and MACC Youth Racing identified a few new potential crit racers!
A BIG THANKS to Arbor Station Principal Felton and her staff, Junior DeBarros of Free Bikes for Kids for generously donating 20 FREE BICYCLES, our MACC VP Eufemia Cabrera-D’Amour for organizing the event and all the MACC Members that volunteered.
